What is better for logos Photoshop or Illustrator?

It started in 1987 as an image editing software that focuses primarily on photo manipulation. Today, it is considered as the basic program that offers advanced tools not only for digital image enhancement but also for making different types of art such as cartoons, video graphics and business-related Photoshop or Illustrator illustrations.

The Adobe package is one of the most impressive full graphics packages on the planet 🙂

Illustrator and Photoshop are the most used and popular Adobe House programs 🙂

And here comes the question that bothers many new designers who take their first steps in these programs.

What is the difference between Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator?

Well, before answering this question, let’s take a look at an important fact.

This is a program that has the ability to create every two-dimensional chart shape.

This is why many designers love Photoshop so much that they use it for everything from photo retouching to web design, illustration, logos, and anything else you can imagine.

They are so in love with Photoshop that they forget about its little brother Illustrator, which is much bigger and more useful in some particular graphic areas.

So when you are about to choose which of them to choose to create your project, keep in mind that Photoshop works mostly with pixels, which means that layers, when resized, lose their quality.

Illustrator works with vectors that allow you to change the size of vectorized layers freely without losing quality.

What it means is that Illustrator can turn a small, low-quality image into a nice large vectorized project.

On the other hand, Photoshop has a better ability to combine colours to make projects look more realistic.

To make a long story short, Photoshop is best for:

  • Photo retouching, photo manipulation
  • digital paintings
  • Photorealistic illustrations
  • Web design
  • Poster designs involving manipulation of photographs
  • special effects
  • projects that do not require an increase in size in the future.

Illustrator is best for:

  • logo design
  • Cartoon illustrations
  • resizable vector drawings
  • vector tracking
  • resizable images of objects
  • Clothing design
  • Transform low-quality bitmap images into
  • Large, high-quality vector images.
  • working with text

This is my opinion that comes from my own experience. If you feel different, feel free.

Being finicky about it, from the conceptualized draft to the software that will be used for completion, is but one very important approach in crafting an effective artwork. But despite all this, a question keeps coming up, especially among meticulous entrepreneurs: is it better to create a logo in Photoshop than in Illustrator, or is it the other way around?

There are many useful utilities for creating logos in Photoshop. Visual instruments like the Pen tool, shape tools, and gradient fill are frequently used to design a simple but effective business symbol.

An important factor in creating a symbol should be the flexibility of the image, as there will be several occasions when it is subject to printing on materials of different sizes, such as canvas, business cards, and web designs.

Originally developed in 1986 and released in 1987, Illustrator is released as a companion program for Photoshop. While the former concentrates on photo manipulation, this software is designed for typesetting and graphic design. Although contrary to the progressive years of Photoshop success, it initially flopped on the market and had to undergo drastic changes, making it the most frequently used logo maker.

With its optimization, the software eventually became a program recognized for its efficiency in creating images for commercial use. Most Photoshop tools can be found in Illustrator, including those mentioned above.

This leaves this graphic tool as more appropriate software in logo design since it is its main feature. However, incorporating the powerful copywriting features of the above software will go a long way toward creating a more innovative company badge. Therefore, initially creating the logo in Photoshop and integrating it with Illustrator’s powerful tools can greatly contribute to the effectiveness of the business symbol to be created.
